Firma Grian Water Ltd z Irlandii poszukuje partnerów do projektu The Green Deal – Farm to Fork

Topic: LC-GD-6-1-2020:

Testing and demonstrating systemic innovations in support of the Farm-to-Fork Strategy

Subtopic: Subtopic B. Achieving climate neutral food businesses by mitigating climate change, reducing energy use and increasing energy efficiency in processing, distribution, conservation and preparation of food.

Organisation Details:

Grian Water Ltd is an R&D company specialising in the development of a hardware product and associated technologies to combat food waste. This product, MyGug is a micro-scale anaerobic digester and has been in development for over 3 years. A domestic digester was designed and installed with the support of an SEAI grant in 2017/2018. Since the installation of this first digester some major improvements have been made in the design. A second digester has been installed in a Café in June 2020 and is capable of treating 5 tonnes of food waste produced in the Café and turning it into the equivalent of 500kg of compressed gas. A micro controller is in development for the MyGug domestic product (supported by Enterprise Ireland Innovation Vouchers). MyGug is a product that provides a long term on site sustainable solution to the growing problem of food waste elimination for business.

How we can contribute to this topic:

Grian Water Ltd will provide the expertise and hardware for treating all the food waste from a food business on site. This will eliminate the need for the collection and transport of food waste to a central processing facility. The gas generated is used on site for cooking which offsets the food businesses use of fossil fuel derived gas. For every 10kg of food waste treated the equivalent of 1kg of compressed gas is produced. The liquid bio-fertiliser from the digester can be used to grow more food.
